The paintings that make up Sandra Gamarra's series "Gabinete" (cabinet) are presented as a large set of quotes about the genres and “isms” of art. The portrait, landscape and still lifes appear together with new genres of contemporary art, pointing towards a genealogy among them. Some of these images overlap in the same format, such as the case of "Gabinete 12", where two landscapes, originally made in different techniques, are painted one on top of the other. The most recent being the one used as background of the other in a clear allusion that the idea of “landscape” responds to one single logic and therefore, in time, we see the mutual feedback.
