Inspired by the spectrum of painterly effects, from gradations, superimpositions of colors, and borders that can be either soft or harsh, German artist Marlon Wobst began in 2018 to work with felt. With the durability of a carpet, and the intensive colors and formal vocabulary of a painting, he created for himself an entirely new way of creating pictures. Love, playful nudity, circles, water games, physical exercise, and movement in general are the themes that provide the motifs. There are no limits to the formats. Larger than life, a small freeze, flat or with a relief – painting with wool on wool does not prescribe any sizes or formats; it is a technique with endless possibilities
