László Lakner is one of the most important artists in the Hungarian neo-avant-garde art, along with his photorealistic paintings he made significant conceptual artworks as well between 1968 and 1974. The early conceptual period of Lakner became even more significant in the past few years on the international scene: his works were exhibited at the International Pop show at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis as well as at Elizabeth Dee Gallery in New York. He participated in the Documenta VI in Kassel and the Venice Biennial in 1972, 1976, and in 1990.
